Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov is in Doha on 14-15 September to participate in an emergency meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers from the League of Arab States and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. At the summit, the Turkmen delegation voiced the country's official position, emphasising the unacceptability of forceful methods of resolving international conflicts, which contradicts the UN Charter and the norms of international law. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the visit, R. Meredov met with the Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. R. Meredov conveyed greetings from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
