An international meeting was held in Ashgabat with the participation of representatives of Turkmenistan's fuel and energy complex, as well as specialists from the UAE and Malaysian company Petronas. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The event was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the meeting the issues of expanding international cooperation in the oil and gas sector, introduction of innovations and advanced technologies were discussed. The sides stressed the importance of partnership with major foreign companies on the principles of trust and mutual benefit.

The meeting was held in a businesslike atmosphere and readiness for further deepening of co-operation was emphasised. As a result of the meeting, agreements were signed between the state concerns ‘Türkmennebit’ and ‘Türkmengaz’ with the companies ‘Petronas’ (Malaysia) and ‘ADNOC’ (UAE).
