Turkmenistan implements new industrial project with ‘Mitsubishi’ and ‘Gap İnşaat’

As part of the strategy to strengthen the country's export potential, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution granting the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ the right to conclude an agreement with the Japanese company ‘Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.’ and the Turkish company ‘Gap Inşaat Yatirim ve Diş Tiсaret Anonim Şirketi’. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The document provides for the design and construction of a modern industrial complex with the improvement of adjacent territories in the Turkmenbashi etrap of the Balkan velayat. The new plant will have a capacity of 1.155 million tonnes of urea per year.

According to the Resolution, construction is scheduled to begin in July 2026, and the complex is expected to be fully operational in February 2030.
