During the talks between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, special emphasis was placed on strengthening five-sided cooperation in the Caspian region. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The Head of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of coordinated actions by the coastal states. It was noted that the key vectors of cooperation were clearly outlined at the Sixth Caspian Summit held on 29 June 2022 in Ashgabat.

The Turkmen side proposed convening a special summit of the leaders of the Caspian littoral states to discuss current issues and intensify efforts to ensure environmental safety in the Caspian Sea.

Special attention was paid to the need to promptly finalise the preparation of draft agreements on this agenda. The parties reaffirmed their intention to continue active dialogue on issues related to the Caspian Sea.
