On 10 September, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Society of Asian Civilisations of Pakistan, led by the organisation's founder, Zulfiqar Ali Qureshi. The Turkmen side presented information on key aspects of the country's foreign policy and the results of the recent UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries held in Avaza. This was reported by IIC.
The central topic of discussion was the prospects for the implementation of major energy projects — the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power line. The participants unanimously recognised their strategic importance for meeting the long-term energy needs of Pakistan and the entire region.
The parties expressed confidence that the successful implementation of these projects would contribute not only to energy security but also to sustainable socio-economic development, strengthening the multifaceted partnership between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
