The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met at Ashgabat International Airport with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, AsmanNews reports.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the President of Iran for participating in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of the forum and expressed that he considers it an honor to attend the event.

During their conversation, both sides noted that Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is based on its status of permanent neutrality, which is supported by the international community. This status remains an important element of regional stability and cooperation.

The interlocutors also discussed the current state of Turkmen-Iranian relations and confirmed their readiness to develop partnership across all areas of mutual interest.
