The international conference ‘Future We Want - Global Initiative for Young Leaders’ was held in Geneva on 16 May 2025. The event was organised by the Italian Diplomatic Academy with the support of the UN and in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
Speaking at the conference, a representative of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan emphasised the strategic orientation of the country's foreign policy course.
The importance of the UN General Assembly's proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust was emphasised. In light of this, the participation of the Turkmen side in the conference focused on the development of youth leadership acquires a deep symbolic significance.
The Permanent Mission also presented to the audience a number of national initiatives in the field of youth policy. These included the Young SDG Ambassadors programme and various projects aimed at expanding international youth partnerships.
The conference served as a significant platform for exchanging ideas and promoting cutting-edge youth initiatives aimed at shaping a more stable and peaceful future.
