The plenary session of the international conference OGT 2025 in Ashgabat discussed the increasing role of Turkmen natural gas in the global energy transition. This was reported by the Arzuw News online edition.

The participants noted that gas remains a reliable source of energy with low emissions in the transition to cleaner fuels.

Special attention was paid to the potential of Turkmenistan, which has some of the world's largest gas reserves, to meet growing demand in both traditional and new promising markets.

Projects such as the TAPI gas pipeline and other cross-border infrastructure initiatives were at the centre of the discussion. Government officials, international experts and industry specialists discussed how expanding Turkmen gas exports can contribute to the country's economic development and support the decarbonisation goals of its partners.
