On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent official congratulations to the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Israel. This is reported by the IIC.

In his messages, the Russian leader noted deep respect for the memory of the heroes-liberators, stressed the importance of preserving historical truth and expressed gratitude for the careful attitude to the common heritage.

Special congratulations were sent to the peoples of Georgia and Moldova. In them, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasised the value of friendly relations and the need to protect joint history from attempts at revision and falsification.
