President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated citizens on Independence Day, emphasising that this holiday strengthens national pride and gives strength for new achievements. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The President of Turkmenistan noted that independence is a great asset of the country, and that over the past 34 years, Turkmenistan has pursued an independent policy, contributed to global progress and strengthened friendly relations.

The Head of State emphasised the significance of Independence Day as a symbol of success and prosperity. In honour of the holiday, new educational, industrial and social facilities were opened in Ashgabat and the regions, demonstrating the greatness of independence and the unity of the people.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is successfully implementing programmes to modernise the economy, improve the quality of life of citizens and strengthen its international authority.

The President of Turkmenistan emphasised the international community's recognition of the country's neutrality and cited the example of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
