President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov spoke at the opening ceremony of the archaeological exhibition ‘Ancient Civilisations of Turkmenistan’ in Rome. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the exhibition, which includes unique artefacts from Margiana and Parthia, symbolises the country's rich cultural heritage and contributes to strengthening humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Italy.

The Head of State noted that cooperation between Turkmen and Italian archaeologists has been developing successfully since the early years of independence, and the results of joint research are presented at the exhibition in the Capitoline Museum.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov recalled that historical monuments such as ancient Merv and the fortresses of Nisa are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The President of Turkmenistan emphasised the special significance of holding the exhibition in the year of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and expressed his confidence that such cultural initiatives strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between peoples.
