The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, opened the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the Head of State outlined the key areas of regional cooperation and emphasised the importance of joint action by the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
The President of Turkmenistan emphasised that, against the backdrop of a changing global situation and new challenges, the importance of effective governance and rapid response is growing.
The participants are focusing primarily on developing cooperation in foreign policy, security, trade, science, education and the humanitarian sphere.
Particular mention was made of the need to strengthen the region’s position as an international logistics and energy hub. Another priority is the preservation of a shared spiritual, cultural and values-based space among the peoples.
