On 3 June, Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Hu Heping, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the interlocutors noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations, which are characterised by comprehensive strategic partnership. Particular attention was paid to the importance of regular high-level contacts, which serve as a powerful impetus for intensifying cooperation in all areas.

The prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary and inter-party ties, as well as the development of interregional cooperation in the ‘Central Asia-China’ format, were discussed. The sides confirmed the effectiveness of their cooperation in the international arena, especially within the framework of the UN. Significant attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation. Issues related to expanding cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, including education, science, culture, mass media and youth exchanges, were also discussed.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and friendship, confirming the mutual interest of the parties in further strengthening their strategic partnership.
