On 22 June 2025, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Qatar, Myratgeldi Seyitmammedov, met with the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. This was reported by the online resource TerraNews.

During the talks, the Turkmen ambassador emphasised the significance of declaring 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust in the country, as well as the role of international events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.

In addition, the interlocutors discussed issues related to simplifying procedures for foreigners crossing Turkmenistan's land borders and the use of Ashgabat International Airport. Particular attention was paid to the work of the humanitarian corridor ensuring the return of foreign citizens to their home countries.

An exchange of views also took place on the development of bilateral interaction and possible areas for further cooperation.

Following the meeting, mutual readiness to strengthen the partnership between Turkmenistan and Ethiopia, including in the humanitarian sphere and international cooperation, was confirmed.
