Turkmen weightlifter Islam Akmyradov, competing in the 94 kg weight category, won a silver medal in the clean and jerk event, lifting a barbell weighing 185 kg. In the snatch event, he added a bronze medal to his collection with a result of 146 kg, according to IIC Turkmenistan.

Another bronze medal for the national team was won by weightlifter Saparbay Atajanov, competing in the over 94 kg weight category.

On the previous day, Didarbek Jumabayev won gold and bronze medals, setting an Asian Games record in the clean and jerk. Leyla Yusupova won bronze in kurash.

Thus, the Turkmenistan national team now has six medals: one gold, one silver and four bronze.
