A group of students and teachers from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas have completed an educational internship at the Petronas University of Technology in Malaysia. This was reported by the online publication Arzuw.news.

The internship programme included two weeks of training for students and one week of advanced training courses for teachers. Participants studied advanced technologies, digitalisation of production and the application of artificial intelligence in the oil and gas sector. During the internship, the Turkmen delegation familiarised themselves with the organisation of the educational process, modern laboratory equipment and the research base of the Malaysian university.

The trip was part of a long-standing cooperation between the Turkmen university, Petronas Charigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd and Petronas University of Technology. In 2024, the parties signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to expand their partnership.

Such internships allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and teachers to incorporate international experience into the educational process. The development of such programmes contributes to strengthening the scientific and educational potential of Turkmenistan in the context of the dynamic growth of the oil and gas industry.
