Turkmen tennis players Nazli Hudaykulieva, Sahra Garahanova and Sulgun Ishankulieva made a historic breakthrough by winning silver medals at the Central Asian Championships for girls under 12 in Fergana (Uzbekistan). This victory earned them a place in the final of the Asian Team Championships, which will be held in Singapore this year. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The tournament was fiercely contested. In the first round, the Turkmen women scored an important victory over the Uzbekistan team with a score of 2:1, giving themselves a head start in the race for the final. The match against the Kyrgyzstan team was decisive: Sahra Garahanova confidently won her match (6:0, 6:1), and Nazli Hudaykulieva left her opponent no chance, taking both sets without losing a game (6:0, 6:0). In the doubles, the Turkmen duo completed the rout (6:1, 6:0), securing second place for the team and a ticket to the Asian Championships.

This success was made possible thanks to the work of coach Yuri Rogussky, who led the Turkmenistan U12 men's team to a similar achievement two years ago.

The Turkmen boys also did not go without awards: the team consisting of Yunus Annamuradov, Yegenmammet Nuryagdyev and Erkin Altyev won bronze, defeating the Kyrgyzstan team in the decisive match (3:0).

Now the young tennis players of Turkmenistan are preparing for their debut at the prestigious Asian championship, where they will compete against the strongest teams on the continent.
