Turkmen tennis players achieved remarkable success at the Davis Cup zonal tournament, winning the right to compete in Group IV of the Asia-Oceania zone in 2026. The competition was held on the courts of the Polytechnic University in Isa Town, where 14 teams from Group V competed for two spots, according to the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

In the group stage, Turkmenistan confidently defeated all its rivals in Group C — Brunei, Bangladesh and Bahrain — 3:0. In the play-offs, the team faced Guam. Despite the difficult statistics of personal meetings, the Turkmen tennis players won a convincing victory with a score of 3:0: Selim Chagylov and Allanur Dayanjov won the singles, and Meylis Orazmuhammedov and Yuri Rogussky completed the victory in the doubles match.

The second ticket to Group IV was won by representatives of the Northern Mariana Islands.

2025 was a successful year for Turkmen tennis: the girls' team under 12 qualified for the U12 Asian Team Championship for the first time, the women's team took second place at the Billie Jean King Cup (Group III Asia/Oceania), and the men's team entered the top eight at the ITF Master's World Team Championship for the first time.
