In Astrakhan, as part of the 10th Caspian Media Forum, a ceremony was held to award the winners of the international journalism competition ‘Caspian without Borders.’ Turkmen journalists achieved outstanding results, winning in two key categories. This was reported by the IIC.
Muhammet Bekgiyev, a journalist for the ‘Turkmenistan’ newspaper, won first place in the ‘Discovering the Countries of the Caspian Sea,’ category with his work ‘The Path of Abai, or the Teachings of the Kazakh Thinker in the Modern World.’ His colleague, Ilaman Churiyev, took second place in the ‘PhotoCaspian’ category for a series of photographs dedicated to the flora and fauna of Ashgabat and issues of environmental education.
In total, over 120 entries from different countries were submitted to the jury, and awards were presented in five categories. The competition, organised with the support of the Astrakhan Region Government and the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, once again highlighted the importance of professional dialogue and cooperation between journalists from the Caspian states.
