A group of French language teachers from leading universities in Turkmenistan has completed a professional training course at the Francophonia Language Centre in Nice. The event, organised with the support of the French Embassy and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of French language teaching in the country. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

During the intensive programme, teachers from Turkmen State University, the Institute of World Languages and other educational institutions studied innovative approaches to teaching. Particular emphasis was placed on digital technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process, as well as interactive methods combining theatrical and musical elements.

The cultural part of the programme included educational excursions around Nice, where participants learned about French traditions and the history of the language. The internship ended with a gala concert, at which the Turkmen delegation performed the national dance ‘kushtdepdi,’ which was met with enthusiasm by the international audience.

This educational event marks a new stage in the development of French-Turkmen cooperation in the field of education, which began with the visit of the President of France to Turkmenistan in 1994.
