Turkmen athletes won 21 medals at the Ju-Jitsu Championship in Athens

The Turkmenistan ju-jitsu team is performing successfully at the 20th Balkan Open Championship in Athens (11–14 September), winning 21 medals in two days: 8 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

Jelilmuhammet Hojamyradov became a two-time champion (94 kg category, ‘Ne-Waza’ and ‘No-Gi’ disciplines). Hurma Abdyeva won gold in the 52 kg weight class (‘Ne-Waza’ and ‘No-Gi’) and two bronze medals in ‘fighting’ and the 57 kg category. Other winners included Gudrat Esenov, Begli Saparov and Suray Gokgayeva.

Silver medals went to Rahmet Taganov, Parahat Rahmanov and Aynur Kulliyeva, while Bayram Rovshenov won bronze in three disciplines. The Turkmen delegation will remain in Athens until 16 September.
