Saparguly Mahtumov, ambassador of the Technovation Girls international programme from Turkmenistan, was among the four winners of the GALA-2025 Global Ambassador Leadership Award. He became the first young man in the history of the award to receive this high honour for his active work in promoting STEM education among girls in Turkmenistan and Central Asia. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.
As Technovation programme coordinator Megan Black noted at the online award ceremony, Saparguly has proven himself to be a talented organiser, providing technical support to participants and coordinating the work of ambassadors across the country. This season, he was joined by winners from Spain, Nigeria and Kyrgyzstan.
Technovation Girls is a global initiative that has been successfully implemented in Turkmenistan for four years. The programme aims to engage girls in technology and social entrepreneurship through the creation of mobile applications that solve pressing social issues. The best teams get the opportunity to present their projects at the Global Summit in California in front of experts from leading IT companies.
This victory confirms Turkmenistan's significant contribution to the development of digital education and gender equality in STEM, opening up new prospects for the country's young talents.
