Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Batyr Charyev from the Great Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi Main Academic Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan received the TURKSOY award in the ‘Best Actor’ category for his contribution to the development of theatre arts in the Turkic world. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.

The ceremony was held on 9 February in Istanbul and was organised by TURKSOY in conjunction with the ‘Anadolu’ newspaper to honour outstanding figures in culture and the arts from the organisation's member countries.

The award was presented to B. Charyev by TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf.
