The President of Turkey noted the strengthening of cooperation with Turkmenistan

At the international forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and International Neutrality Day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the historical significance of the neutrality anniversary and expressed respect for the Turkmen people, according to the IIC.

The President of Turkey congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, conveying warm wishes from the Turkish people.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan highlighted the importance of the forum in the context of the International Year of Peace and Trust and highly appreciated Turkmenistan’s dynamic development since its independence.
The President of Turkey underlined the strong historical, cultural, and spiritual ties between the two countries, recalling that Turkey was the first to recognize Turkmenistan’s independence and support its neutrality.

Special attention was given to strategic cooperation in trade, investment, energy, transport, defense, and humanitarian areas. Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s readiness to support Turkmenistan’s stability and prosperity, as well as the necessity of international dialogue and trust, noting Ankara’s role in resolving regional conflicts through the UN, OSCE, and OIC.

In conclusion, the President of Turkey expressed confidence that the forum would become an important step toward strengthening peace, mutual understanding, and cooperation between the states.
