Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova is on an official visit to the People's Republic of China from 21 to 24 May this year at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji. This is reported by the IIC.

The visit is seen as a significant stage in strengthening the strategic partnership between the legislative bodies of the two countries. It demonstrates the active position of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan in the development of inter-parliamentary ties and interaction with international organisations.

Turkmenistan regards China as an important strategic partner and pays special attention to deepening comprehensive cooperation, including the parliamentary dimension of bilateral relations. The visit of the Turkmen parliamentary delegation is intended to contribute to the further development of fruitful dialogue between the two countries.
