21 September marks the International Day of Peace, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly. On this day, the symbolic ‘Peace Bell’ is traditionally rung at the UN headquarters in New York, according to IIC of Turkmenistan.

Conferences, humanitarian and educational initiatives dedicated to strengthening a culture of peace and trust are held in various countries. These events also aim to promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts, respect for international law and the development of dialogue.

For Turkmenistan, the issues of peace and neutrality occupy an important place in its foreign policy. The country links these to the development of international dialogue, the maintenance of stability and the expansion of cooperation.
