On 5 May 2025, in the city of Goyang (Republic of Korea), a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea B. Durdyev and the Director of the Korean Institute of Equestrian Culture Ko Song Kyu. This was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea.
The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of horse breeding, as well as the possibility of exchanging experience in the field of popularisation and development of equestrian culture. Particular attention was paid to the activities of the State Association "Türkmenatlary" and the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev, which opened in the new "smart" city of Arkadag.
Ko Song Kyu, for his part, expressed high appreciation of Turkmenistan's commitment to the preservation and development of horse breeding traditions. He warmly recalled the participation in the National Day of the Turkmen Horse in 2016, noting the indelible impression of the Akhal-Teke horses, which have a unique beauty and endurance. In this context, he expressed interest in establishing closer ties with Turkmen profile structures, including in the context of possible accession to the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding.
