President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Jung Won-ju, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korean company ‘Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.’ This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The guest expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, emphasising the importance of cooperation with Turkmenistan and congratulated the Head of State on the second anniversary of the opening of the city of Arkadag. He also conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the talks would serve to strengthen mutually beneficial partnership. It was noted that Turkmenistan highly values its ties with South Korea, in particular the participation of Korean companies in key projects in the chemical and oil and gas industries.

During the meeting, it was announced that a contract had been signed between the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ and ‘Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.’ for the construction of a mineral fertiliser production complex in Turkmenabat, marking a new stage in bilateral cooperation.

In conclusion, the sides expressed confidence in the further development of productive interaction.
