President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for a working visit to Turkey on October 29 to participate in the 13th Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). This was reported by the TDH news agency.
At Ankara Airport, the head of state was welcomed by Turkey’s Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz, members of the official delegation of Turkmenistan and representatives of Turkish business circles.
In the afternoon, the heads of state participating in the OTS attended the opening ceremony of the Park of Culture of Turkic Countries. The park features models of historical structures belonging to Turkic peoples and traditional yurts. Participants planted trees and viewed cultural exhibitions.
The Turkmen exhibition featured a white yurt displaying household items, national costumes and musical instruments. Turkmen cultural and artistic performers presented traditional songs, folklore and the kushtdepdi dance. A statue of an Akhal-Teke horse was installed next to the yurt, symbolizing the historical heritage and horse-breeding traditions of the Turkmen people.
Following the ceremony, the heads of state visited the "Malazgirt" Event Center, where national and traditional sports games, equestrian performances and a concert featuring representatives of Turkic states took place.
Turkmenistan participates in the activities of the OTS as an observer state. Cooperation within the Organization covers political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian areas.
The working visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Turkey is continuing.
