The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania and the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti held an international conference ‘30 Years of Turkmenistan's Neutrality - Contribution to Peace and Trust’ on 15 May this year. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, officially recognised by the UN, as well as the declaration of 2025 as ‘the International Year of Peace and Trust’. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The conference was attended by diplomats, experts, scientists and students who discussed the importance of neutrality for global stability and sustainable development. Rector of the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Professor Alin Dinita, who noted the importance of the neutral status for international cooperation, and State Secretary of the Romanian Ministry of Energy Pavel Casian Nitulescu, who emphasised the prospects of energy partnership between the two countries, made welcoming speeches.

The keynote speech was delivered by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev. In his speech, he detailed Turkmenistan's foreign policy priorities, emphasising that permanent neutrality serves as a reliable basis for peace-loving diplomacy.

Much attention was paid to economic cooperation, in particular, to the promising project of the Caspian Sea-Black Sea transport corridor, which could become an important link in transcontinental freight traffic, connecting Central Asia with Europe.

The event ended with a rich cultural programme.
