On 27 June 2025, a solemn ceremony was held in the capital of Turkey to lay flowers at the monument to the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy. The event, organised by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey, took place in Turkmenistan Park. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The ceremony was attended by diplomats, representatives of international organisations, cultural figures, journalists, members of the Turkmen diaspora and students studying in Ankara. Speaking to the audience, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Turkey M.Ishangulyev noted the enduring significance of Magtymguly Pyragy's legacy for world literature. Special attention was paid to upcoming events within the framework of the proclaimed International Year of Peace and Trust.

This event was yet another testament to the deep respect for the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan and the strengthening of humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Turkey.
