Students from Turkmenistan won prizes at the NCUMC-2026 competition

From 26 to 28 April, St Petersburg hosted the 12th International Mathematics Competition for University Students from Northern Countries (NCUMC-2026). Turkmen students secured prize-winning places, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

Islam Hayitmuhammedov and Halmyrat Myratgeldiyev, students at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, took second place in the individual competition and were awarded silver medals. Shohrat Bayramov, a fourth-year student at the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, took third place.

The competition was held at the National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics. Students from Austria, the United Kingdom, Poland, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Germany and France took part.
