Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the Women Leaders Dialogue

On 12 November, a delegation from the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the Central Asian Women Leaders' Dialogue, which was held in Tashkent. This was reported by TerraNews.

The forum's agenda focused on strengthening interregional cooperation, expanding women's participation in socio-political and economic processes, and promoting gender equality.

The event was attended by parliamentarians from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of international organisations, civil society institutions and local authorities.

During the discussions, the effectiveness of national initiatives to empower women and their role in public administration and social life was assessed.

The Turkmen side emphasised the importance of cooperation with international partners, improving legislation and implementing the National Action Plan for Gender Equality for 2021-2025.

At the end of the forum, participants exchanged experiences and agreed on a final document reflecting the key agreements of the conference.
