Rashid Meredov Held a Meeting with the Leadership of UN Agencies in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting on June 3 with the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko, and the UNDP Resident Representative, Narine Saakyan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations, as well as the outcomes of the recent visit of the Turkmen delegation to New York to participate in the UN Security Council’s high-level open debate.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan’s participation in the event reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthening the role of the United Nations, promoting preventive diplomacy, a culture of dialogue, and the principles of neutrality. Particular attention was given to the meetings held by the Turkmen delegation with the UN Secretary-General, the Organization’s leadership, the UNDP Administrator, the Head of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, and representatives of several countries.
The participants also reviewed issues related to the implementation of international initiatives supporting developing landlocked countries, the Awaza Programme of Action for 2024–2034, and the Awaza Political Declaration.
