President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, TDH reports.

The head of state thanked the Uzbek leader for participating in the International Forum, noting the significance of Uzbekistan’s presence at the level of the head of state. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and emphasized that holding the Forum confirms Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening peace. He also congratulated the Turkmen people on the 30th anniversary of the country’s neutral status.

During the talks, the parties confirmed the sustainable development of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, including interaction within the UN, CIS, and TRACECA frameworks. It was noted that the recent state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan expanded opportunities for further strengthening the partnership. The President of Turkmenistan once again expressed gratitude for being awarded the “Oliý Darajali Dustlik” order.

The sides also discussed the growth of mutual trade, joint projects, and the expansion of humanitarian ties based on their shared historical and cultural foundations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the leaders of the two countries exchanged warm wishes and confirmed their commitment to further developing good-neighborly relations.
