Following the trilateral summit in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a joint statement to the media. This was reported by IIC Turkmenistan.
The President of Azerbaijan called the meeting a historic event and noted the high level of relations between Ashgabat and Baku. Ilham Aliyev announced that construction of a mosque, a gift from the Turkmen people, would soon begin in Fizuli, emphasising the symbolic nature of this gesture.
The President of Azerbaijan also expressed his gratitude to Turkmenistan, noting the country's consistent development and emphasising the importance of the sister city relations between Arkadag and Fizuli. According to Ilham Aliyev, instructions have already been given to establish trilateral cooperation formats.
‘A format for cooperation aimed at peace and interaction is being created. May it be for the good,’ said Ilham Aliyev, adding that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan will continue to move forward shoulder to shoulder.
