Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Malaysia Muhammetniyaz Mashalov held a meeting with the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur Dato' Seri Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif on 13 May. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.

According to the source, the interlocutors discussed further development of partnership in various areas, including fuel and energy complex, science, education and transport. The presentation of the concept of ‘smart’ city being implemented in Arkadag city was also presented. The Turkmen side noted that environmentally friendly materials are used here and modern technologies are introduced.

In turn, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur praised the quality of infrastructure in Arkadag.

At the end of the talks, M.Mashalov invited the interlocutors to visit Turkmenistan and proposed to develop a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen the partnership between the two governments.

The sides also expressed commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial co-operation.
