In anticipation of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3), which will take place in August in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone, Turkmenistan is preparing a rich cultural programme. The key element of the programme will be the Festival of Friendship, aimed at strengthening international ties through art, according to the news website TerraNews.

The idea of holding the festival was presented by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who announced it during a working trip to the Balkan velayat.

The programme of the event includes performances by foreign artists and is dedicated to the themes of peace, sustainable development and international trust.

The festival will serve as a symbolic accompaniment to the forum and an expression of Turkmenistan's commitment to cultural diplomacy and the development of inter-state dialogue.
