On 8 October, Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov met with Qatar's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan Hamad bin Rashid bin Hamad Al-Azbi, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmenistan Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the support and the conditions created for his successful work. During the negotiation, the parties confirmed their desire to develop bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, emphasising the importance of high-level visits and improving the contractual framework.

They noted the need to continue cooperation within international organisations, primarily the UN, as well as to intensify trade and economic ties through the work of the Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission. The diplomats expressed interest in strengthening cultural and humanitarian contacts.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Ambassador for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations and wished him success in his future activities.
