On 9 April, during his visit to Austria, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held a meeting with Neda Berger, Head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of inter-state ties. The contribution of the Turkmen-Austrian Society to the expansion of partnership, including in the trade, economic and investment spheres, was noted.

During the negotiations, the role of cultural and humanitarian cooperation was emphasised. In this context, the activities of the Turkmen-Austrian symphony orchestra ‘Galkynysh’, which brings together representatives of the creative communities of both countries, were highlighted.

The interlocutors confirmed the potential for further development of cooperation and expressed their readiness to strengthen it.

Following the meeting, the parties noted the importance of cultural dialogue as one of the key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria.
