National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with UN Deputy Secretary-General and Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva, Tatiana Valovaya, TDH reports.

Tatiana Valovaya thanked him for the reception and noted that it was a great honor for her to take part in the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. She also conveyed greetings from UN Secretary-General António Guterres to the leadership of Turkmenistan.

Hero-Arkadag warmly welcomed the head of the UN Office and expressed gratitude for her participation in the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the anniversary of the status of permanent neutrality.

The parties noted that Turkmenistan’s neutrality, recognized by the UN, has become an important tool for strengthening peace and trust. It was emphasized that the forum in Ashgabat serves as a platform for discussing issues on the international agenda, sustainable development, and humanitarian cooperation.

Tatiana Valovaya highlighted Turkmenistan’s contribution to strengthening peace and sustainable development and confirmed her readiness to support the successful organization of the forum.

Hero-Arkadag stressed that cooperation with the UN is a priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy and reaffirmed the country’s readiness to support the organization’s initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in further strengthening cooperation and exchanged best wishes for success.
