On 24 September, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Hero Arkadag familiarised himself with the preparations for the Independence Day celebrations and the results of the facility's modernisation.

It was noted that Ahal-Teke horses, a symbol of national pride, occupy a special place in the upcoming celebrations. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the need to create conditions for riders, spectators and high-level horse racing, and also paid attention to issues of ecology and landscaping.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people personally saddled one of the horses, checked the condition of the tracks and discussed with horse breeders measures to improve the infrastructure and develop national horse breeding traditions.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty then visited the Ahal-Teke Horse Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, which is also undergoing modernisation. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of training horses, encouraging the work of horse breeders and preserving the centuries-old school of horse breeding.

According to the Hero Arkadag, Ahal-Teke horses are a national treasure, and their development and promotion should remain a priority of state policy.
