On 24 September, an official reception was held in Tokyo, organised by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan to mark the country's Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of Permanent Neutrality, according to the press service of the diplomatic mission.
The event was attended by representatives of the Japanese government, heads of ministries and departments, higher education institutions, companies operating in Turkmenistan, representatives of foreign embassies, international organisations, public associations and the media, as well as Turkmen students studying in Japan.
During the official part of the event, speeches were made by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A. Bayramov, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, H. Fujii, the Minister of Justice, K. Suzuki, and the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, T. Endo. Particular attention was paid to international initiatives presented at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
The reception included an exhibition of Turkmen carpets and cultural treasures, as well as a screening of informational videos about the country. After the official part, guests were treated to national cuisine accompanied by Turkmen music.
