Holidays and working meetings shaped the agenda of the week in Turkmenistan

The past week in Turkmenistan was marked by state holidays and working events related to the country’s development, social sphere, and agriculture, according to TDH.
The country celebrated Ashgabat City Day, “Last Bell” (school graduation celebrations), and Kurban Bayramy. Festive events and charitable actions were also held, including kurbanlyk sadaqa in honor of the holiday.
On May 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting focused on the digital system. The agenda included the state of agriculture and regional development. Discussions covered the progress of the grain harvest campaign, the care of cotton, vegetable and other crops, as well as the delivery of silkworm cocoons to the state. Instructions were given on compliance with agrotechnical standards and the introduction of new production methods.
In Ashgabat, new residential buildings were commissioned on City Day. In the Büzmeýin etrap, two five-story buildings with 60 and 80 apartments were opened. In Choganly, residents received keys to 78 cottages. Outstanding builders were awarded gifts. In the education system, “Last Bell” celebrations were held across the country. Graduates and teachers laid flowers at monuments and the Independence Monument. Top students and education workers received commemorative gifts. Excursions and festive concerts were organized for graduates in Ashgabat and the regions.
Also on May 25, a meeting took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Chairman of Çalık Holding, Ahmet Çalık. The implementation of construction projects was discussed, including a power plant on the Caspian Sea and a urea production complex. The company is involved in several infrastructure projects in the country. Separate discussions focused on the participation of the “Galkynyş” group in an international festival in Istanbul.
On May 26, a meeting was held of the Council of Elders under the Halk Maslahaty and the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Issues of social support, youth policy, and family policy were reviewed. The naming of a newborn girl was also discussed, with the proposed name “Arkadag gyzy Gurbanguly”.
Special attention was given to the celebration of Kurban Bayramy. Holiday prayers were performed in mosques across the country, including with the participation of state leadership and foreign diplomats. Prayers and charitable activities were carried out during the events. At the end of the week, events dedicated to Turkmen Carpet Day were also held, including exhibitions and international forums. Achievements of carpet makers were recognized and awards were presented.
Overall, the week unfolded amid festive dates and ongoing work processes across key sectors, from agriculture to the social sphere.
