The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the New Year 2026. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The message notes that 2026 is being celebrated under the motto ‘Independent Neutral Turkmenistan − the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses’ and is being met by the country with achievements and goals set. Hero Arkadag wished the President good health, long life and success in his work for the future of the country.

The message emphasises the significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the widespread celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality. It was noted that the country's initiatives within the UN and the adoption of the Resolution on Permanent Neutrality for the third time confirmed the international recognition of Turkmenistan's peacekeeping policy, and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust was its logical continuation.

The socio-economic development of the regions, Ashgabat and the city of Arkadag, the implementation of the ‘Concept for the Development of the City of Arkadag for 2024-2052’, as well as the commissioning of new settlements and social and industrial facilities were noted.

In conclusion, Hero Arkadag expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, the country will continue on the path of sustainable development, and wished success in implementing the tasks of improving the living standards of the population and strengthening the economy.
