On 7 October, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived on a working visit to the city of Gabala in the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States. This was reported by the news newspaper ‘Turkmenistan’.

At the International Airport of Gabala, Hero Arkadag was met by officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan and members of the Turkmen delegation.

Gabala is one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan, attracting many with its historical, cultural and natural beauty. Until 1991, the city was called Kutkashen and was recognised as the cultural and youth capital of the CIS.
