The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has thanked Turkmenistan for its assistance in evacuating South Korean citizens from the Middle East. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ashgabat reported that the transit of citizens residing in Iran through the territory of Turkmenistan was safe due to the support of the Turkmen authorities.

Seoul noted the importance of the solidarity shown and expressed hope for further strengthening of cooperation.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan, about 4,000 foreign citizens leaving Iran through humanitarian corridors have already passed through the country.
