A delegation from Turkmenistan is studying environmental technologies in Uzbekistan

An informational and exchange visit is taking place in the cities of Nukus and Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) within the framework of the project “European Union for Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024–2029,” funded by the European Union and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), as well as the “Green Central Asia” initiative. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The visit is being held from June 8 to 14, 2026. It includes representatives of Turkmenistan, among them specialists from the Research and Production Center for Renewable Energy Sources of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the visit is to study international experience in the fields of water, energy, and environmental sustainability, as well as the introduction of alternative energy and biotechnology.

The delegation is working in Nukus, where it is holding meetings with relevant scientific institutions and getting acquainted with environmental and irrigation technologies, including solar pumping stations and drainage water treatment systems. Methods for cultivating the microalgae chlorella are also being studied.

The program includes visits to the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea region, participation in seminars in Tashkent, and familiarization with practices in water conservation, soil salinization control, and agro-photovoltaic systems.

The participation of Turkmen specialists in the project is aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation and developing environmentally sustainable technologies.
