Ji Shumin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan, stated during the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum in Ashgabat that the exhibition marked an important step in the implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan.

The Ambassador noted that relations had strengthened following the March visit to China by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, where negotiations with Xi Jinping culminated in the signing of major intergovernmental agreements.

Separately, the diplomat highlighted the recent visit to Turkmenistan by Ding Xuexiang, Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, including his participation in the launch of the fourth phase of development of the ‘Galkynysh’ field, which has strengthened the energy partnership. He also emphasised China’s interest in the development of non-resource sectors and its readiness to support their expansion.
