An international conference on reducing methane emissions will take place on 29–30 October 2026 in Ashgabat. The event will be supported by the project office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in Turkmenistan, according to Turkmenportal.

Mergen Kepbanov, director of the project office, announced the preparations for the conference on 22 September during a meeting with Gismat Gozalov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan.

Conference participants will discuss modern approaches and practical solutions for reducing methane emissions, exchange experiences and consider issues relating to the implementation of climate initiatives.
